Let Me Introduce Myself
Passionate Professional Clinical Counselor Trainee and Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor
My name is Nora Magnuson Mazzoni, I have a Bachelors and an International License of Alcohol and Drug & Alcohol Counseling. I am will be completing my Masters in Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University in March 2020 (Supervised by Clinical Director Dr. Jamie Kirkpatrick Psy. D, LMFT). I’ve been successfully counseling clients and have worked at Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation across the nation for five years. I love helping people achieve their greatest potential in their lives by finding peace, serenity, and healing. I believe every person; no matter their past or present circumstances are worth love, kindness, and empathy. I believe the collaborative relationship between the clients I work with and myself is the most important piece to cultivating the healing that is needed for transformation and healing. If you are feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands, at times hopeless, struggling with relationships, struggling with chemical use, unable to cope with life demands and/or are wanting to achieve your personal life goals then you have come to the right place. I have professional experience with utilizing a multitude of counseling techniques; including CBT, DBT skills, Client-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing Skills, Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness techniques, 12 Steps and 12 Traditions of AA/NA, LGBTQ, with an emphasis in cultural diversity. I am also knowledgeable in a wide array of religious/spiritual practices. I specialize in all age groups; such as adolescents, adults, and elders.
